I want to buy a BST Carbon wheel on Ebay...will it fit?

Post by Bowches » Tue Oct 17, 2017 11:23 am

Hi all....

I am interested in buying a BST carbon front wheel on Ebay.

I hope it may fit the CBR 400 NC29 front?

Here is the link

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BST-FRONT-CARBON-FIBER-WHEEL-
HONDA-CBR1000RR-08-16-
BLACK-STONE TEK-/253192931388?hash=item3af379883c:g:-AMAAOSwe0NZ1onT

You can type in Ebay BST FRONT CARBON FIBER WHEEL HONDA CBR1000RR (08-16) BLACK STONE TEK

Here are measurements (pictures) I have done as well on the CBR 400 Stock front wheel (my crashed wheel).....

I think Tanuki had bought Dymag Street Race TT3 Magnesium 3 Spoke Wheels but they are 2800 pounds or the other one is 2600 which is just too much money....maybe if I had the money I may think about buying it

There are 6 spokes/holes for holding the disc and the distance from one hole centre to the next is 3.7cm which is the link above (3nd link)

The diameter of the wheel using the measuring tape seems to be more than 17 inch but I'm probably measuring it from the wrong point.

There are 6 spokes/holes for holding the disc and the diameter of the holes from one end to the other is 8.8cm

The length from one side of the hub to the other side of the hub seems to be about 13.4cm.

Sorry I can't help but I'm sure Yakama or Tanuki would have a better idea, give them a pm if it's urgent. I'm guessing but you may have to locate different spacers if they do fit.

I forgot to ask, what happened to your wheel. You took a tumble or a bit of a kerbie?

Yep haha I was wondering when someone might ask that.....

It was in October 2015....I was with my mate, he was on his Yamaha R125 and I was on the CBR 400 and we were at a new Junction with alot of traffic lights and islands and It WAS NIGHT TIME.

The previous day, we had taken out the restrictors from the carbs on the CBR 400 because the restrictors had caused some serious problem in the carbs and when we took it out, it was running fine again.

I went home and he told me to grow some balls and ride fast and the next day at the traffic light I remembered that....and ACCELERATED HARD at the traffic light and went straight instead of going right and went straight into a KERB (BIG ONE)....went flying in the air! It was amazing, nothing really happened to me....

I got off the floor and ran to the bike, only worrying about picking it up and making sure no police was around, as I tried to pickup the bike, I felt a sharp pain in my left hand and two fingers were bleeding badly...other than that just two small bruises....

I was wearing literally no gear, just bike boots, cheap chinese gloves and an OPEN FACE HELMET!

Anyway the bike started again when we picked it....just the wheels got damaged, the bottom yoke clamps and forks...The bike started again which was amazing! and was running fine!

We locked up the bike and put a cover on it and I went on the back of his yamaha R125 to the hospital (THE AMBULANCE DID NOT ARRIVE)....the Doctors were amazed nothing happened! I had to have surgery on my two fingers and it took me 7 months to get back running on the bike because new fairings and wheels had to be put on.

Also I could not clench my left fist for two months....Rest is history....

Moral of the story....dont listen to idiots and if you can avoid them as much as possible

After that I found Ace cafe and met other people made a better friends

Honest Officer

You must have sorted your bike with a new wheel anyway as you have been riding about since 2015.

Take care

The new second hand wheel was 135 pounds and it came with the tyre. I had to transfer my discs to the wheel and all was running again. I had to buy a back wheel as well and new chinese fairings.

Cost me £1000 pound in total to get on the road again as my friend did not listen to me when I told him to start it every week and he did not start it for a few months and the fuel pump was not working properly, then I had to send it to bike repair shop which they charged me for transport and repairing the fuel pump.

And then my friends NSR 125 stopped working and I had then lent my CBR 400 to him for 3 months....it was a time I got really ANGRY....that is why I joined Greybike 400 to start doing repairs myself as long as I can get help. To be fair that same friend helped me in repairs as well and he also put on the new Alternator which has been going well since April this year (2017)
