Sorry i dont know about that engine number, looking at the specs E-12 does not belong to a triarm or nc29. Bung a picture up of the bike and engine if you can. 1990 could be a 23 or 29 but being a grey import who knows and i dont know the numbers for the Aero 23. If you have the money i think Graeme France Racing could help on a recon engine.

The engine you have is from an NC23 Tri-Arm, CBR400RRK (1989). The 1990 models were NC29s. I don't know specifically what other engines would fit, but if I were you I would be looking to replace like with like.

Your links don't seem to be working for me so can't help with identifying the engine but:

The CB-1 engine in this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1994-Honda-CB ... Swo4pYWoVJ
won't fit as the cylinder head is different and the top engine mounts are in a different place on the CB-1.

The NC23 might fit the frame but the inlet from the radiator is at the back of the cylinders and not the front like the NC29 which you have.

Your best bet is to try and get a NC29 (1990 onwards) engine as that is what should be in there and therefore the easiest to fit - good luck, there's usually a few on ebay

Your best bet would be to post in the CB-1 section of the forum. They'll definitely know what fits and what can be made to fit. I'm sure the 29 and the cb-1 use the same engine but with different engine cases...

FYI, NC29 engines start with NC23E-130000. I was assuming that your NC23E-12xxxx meant it was from the previous model (NC23 RRK), but, er, it isn't. I just checked the NC23 parts book and those engine numbers start 100000, 101500, 102000 and 109000, for RG, RH, RRJ and RRK, respectively. Sorry!

I don't know what engine yours is, possibly CB-1 as mentioned above.
