NC29 Tyres - BT92 Replacement??
Hi guys
I know there is other posts regarding the best tyres etc for the 29, however finding a BT92 for the rear at 160 width is not a feasible option, as the garages where I can get good prices for tyres cannot get hold of them.
I was wondering what people are buying these days? I know the BT92's were the favourite for the rear due to the extended life over the BT90's back in 2008 or whenever they were widely available.. but sadly now they are not..
I can get a BT90 for the rear but I plan to commute on this during the summer months and ideally I would like it to last longer than a year (lifespan according to other posts).
What are people buying these days as replacements?
Cheers
J

Re: NC29 Tyres - BT92 Replacement??
Hi, To be honest I think most manufactures tyres will be very good for commuting, although milage may vary. If your changing both tyres it's a lot easier as miss matched front & rear especially on the profile could cause handling problems.
I use Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 and they seem fine to me, milage on the rear is just over 5000 miles commuting but a few years ago I actually achieved near 10000, they were an earlier version of Diablo. The correct size for the rear is 150 although I know many seem to use 160.

I went with Coni Sport Attack 3 in Oem sizes, 120/150. So far wear is great. I've got 1300 miles on them so far, 90% of that is hard street riding in the twisties.
I may try a 160 next time out.
