CBR400/600 NC29..... :0)
I sold my NC29 a few months ago after owning it for 13-14 years!
Missed not owning a bike & was extremely lucky to find this gem. Now some may remember i was building a NC23/600 hybrid a couple years ago. sadly no time so ended up selling it which paid for the deposit on the unit of my new business.
So a few days ago i stumbled across this on gumtree and located in Newmarket which is in my neck of the woods :)
A bit of two & frowing as another chap was interested (snooze & you loose esp if LP wants it), get the message its all yours.
So here are the details:
CBR400 NC29 RRL frame
CBR600 lump but model not yet known (tomorrow)
CBR600 clocks? deffo not NC29 ones
Wiring loom is umm.. needs tidying up is best way i can describe it, i hate electric tape when i can solder & use heatshrink.
I will be finding out more about it next few days/nights.
no idea if air box is cut down to size or if tank has been bashed in, but the tank sits with the right gap to the frame.
Sadly chap i bought it from didnt build it.. Someone from London did (if you know who it is? electronics engineer? let me know?) & sold it early This summer to 2 lads.
Bad points:
Been used as a track day bike so a few things have been removed (hence loom a bit messy), i intend to put it all back to road... sorry you die hard "keep it original"... Streetfighter as that was my original plan with the previous build.
Currently the engine doesnt run smooth, its not firing on all 4. so 1st job is change plugs/HT leads/Coils if still not running right.. carbs. once running i also intend on changing to COPs.
I will be looking for new headlights, brake lights (LED knowing me, but not a custom build job like before) etc etc.

As soon as i have had my coffee & head out to the garage.
Todays aim is change the spark plugs
locate the engine number to ID the lump
See if i can find the wiring loom part number tag to see which one was used
check the CDI unit is correct for the lump (may be cause of not running right but doubt it if the prev owners says they rode it)
Make a list of things i will need to buy instead of trying to keep a mental list.
Already put a few things on ebay watch list last night: headlights, brake lights, paintball mask to create the front with.

Re: CBR400/600 NC29..... :0)
Got new plugs in it today but didnt fire up. Not happy with the HT leads, Cyl 1-4 getting spark, cyl 2-3 not getting spark as you hold plug in lead touching frame.
DLed a manual & coils are wired correctly & HT leads going to correct cyl/coil.
The HT leads are weird silicone things (red leads in pics), they dont "sit" right on the plugs, they wiggle about loads, when pushing them down i dont "feel" that rasping as they push over the threaded part of the plug.
Just ordered a set of OEM HT leads/coils (used as no new ones found)
Engine number is PC23E-2000429 which puts it at 1989 CBR600FK.
Oh and its covered in anodised crappy bolts!
