NC35 Rear Shock Refurbing

Post by RVFmal » Sun Jan 07, 2024 7:13 am

Can the OEM rear shock on the NC35 be refurbished?

The one on the running NC35 is in ok condition, but would like to refurb it by cleaning and polishing it up.

The unit on the rolling chassis needs more work though as it is seriously shoddy.

If you check out the alternative '400cc Forum Revival' forum you will find a post titled 'NC35 Rear Shock change'. The chap involved (aka tailongwan) sent his shock to EMC France at www.emc-suspensions.fr/en (based in Lyon). They stripped it and used the metal shroud as part of a custom made replacement shock. In other words he got a new shock which looks pretty much like the original. That also suggests that the NC35 shock can be refurbed.
I would contact a couple of the well-known UK suspension companies if I was you and ask their advice.

Alternatively, Hagon used to offer a refurb service. Not sure if they only do their own branded ones now though. Worth asking though.
