VFR750 engine in NC30/35 chassis

Hello All, just been skimming through a thread about a VFR750 engine in an NC35. I thought about doing this to an NC30 and I
quickly got stopped in my tracks by my trusty B&Q tape measure (other tape measures are available :-) ) I measured across the
rear cylinder head of the VFR750 engine and it's wider than the gap between the frame rails. So, has the modified bike had serious
frame surgery and are there any pictures?
TIA
Dave.

I think it was slightly fettled. The dude was called Mike and was on here too..and on other fora. I cannot remember his username though!
have a quick search, I reckon you'll find it

Might be Hollo ??

Thanks for the reply. The reason for the initial question was this, I am working on putting a VFR800 engine into an NC30 chassis, and the interesting
thing is that the rear cylinder head of the VFR800 engine will fit between the frame spars without having to modify the chassis structurally.

Sounds cool. The RC45 and VFR800 were based don the same/similar cases weren't they?

Get it built :D

The main issues were the space for the front rad adn wheel clearance at full compression - be awesome to see another big motor in the chassis.

It’d be an ace sleeper bike. Stick a question mark at the end of the decal nc30 for fun

The engine is mostly in the chassis, the crank centre is about 15mm further forward than the NC30 engine. I've had to hack the swingarm pivot from the back of the VFR800 engine. The distance from the crank centre to the top of the cam cover is roughly the same because the VFR800 engine doesn't have any rockers like the NC30. The biggest problem is finding time to make progress with it :-(
Thanks for the interest.
Dave.
P.S. Yes, the VFR800 engine is derived from the RC45, pity it doesn't have the 360 Deg. crank though :-(

Yo - Taglicious.

This is for sale in the UK.

Where to begin ? . I had this bike for almost 14 years now, and have kept trying to improve it . I've just got it back after spending more than £1000 getting it better . It's had many, many new parts such as , new tyres , power coated wheels , wheel bearings , new rad , handle bars , front calipers , disks , R/R , carb rubbers , Oil , plugs ,HT leads , Jets , clutch master cylinder & lever , mirrors and much more I've forgotten about . It's also got a fresh MOT .

It's been away being sorted for so long ( pre-covid ) that I thought I'd welcome it back as a new bike to me . However I'm still stuck for space as 6 bikes is just too many for me to all keep taxed & MOTed . So as it's in just been sorted with many new parts , I thought I'd tentatively stick it on here first , to see if anyone is interested in it . It's also got NC35 bodywork fitted , which is not perfect as I strongly suspect it fell over and was damaged by the bike courier who dropped it off years ago , but I've no way of proving it . I'll sum up exactly how the person that worked on it described it - ' the bike is still a nasty thing but it is now functionally much improved and in riding terms actually a nicer experience than it has any right to be..

I'd say the bad points are , that the NC30 rev counter reads double and the steering lock is poor . Nothing too bad, but that what you have to put up with , with any 'special'. In the pics below this first two are from a few years ago , but the third one is how it is now ( the pic was taken without the bodywork fitted ) - you should make out the updated calipers, disks and rad . I've no real idea of the value of it , I was thinking of asking £4000 , but I'm open to comments if anyone thinks this is way off the mark.

Not mine, but Hollo is on here, or was, and so there is some history of this one.
