NC30 Fuelling Issues
Hi, first of all, I should introduce myself- Hello I’m Mark and have owned my NC30 since 1998. Sadly, in recent years, it’s sat at the back of my garage, under covers and hasn’t been ridden in quite a while.
The reason for my post is that I’m having some trouble getting it to start. It starts and runs like a dream with the fuel tank disconnected but as soon as I plumb in the fuel line it won’t start?.
For reference it’s a Jap Import, has a Scorpion end can and a jetting kit was fitted back in 2002 but always ran well afterwards.
I’m trying to get it ready for it’s MOT, so I can put it up for sale, so would really appreciate some help.
Thanks, Mark

Sorry it's a late reply but have you got the vacuum hose connected? Without vacuum from the carbs, the diaphragm on the fuel tap won't open.

Hi chaps, yes the vacuum hose was connected. In the end I bit the bullet and stripped the carbs down. The jets and emulsion tubes were all bunged up with crud. I gave them a good clean out and now it starts and runs well.
Thanks for the help!

Hi Chaps, thanks for the advice. It did have the vacuum hose attached. Long story short, i bit the bullet and stripped the carbs down. The main jets and emulsion tubes were full of gunk!
Put it all back together and now it starts and runs like it should. Strangely it also ticks over much nicer without 5 year old fuel in as well!
Cheers
