NC30 Fork strip

Post by socket13 » Fri Mar 27, 2020 1:25 pm

Looking for advice, started stripping the forks on my NC30,now at the stage where i need to remove the bottom damper rod bolt, 6mm Snap on allen key socket, 12" breaker bar and all thats happening is i can feel the allen key beginning to twist, i ckecked the torque setting in the manual and it states 20nm, has this thing grown into the alloy? any tips as to best way to undo it?

It screws into the damper tube inside the fork tube. Quite often the damper tube rotates with the bolt. An impact gun usually proves successful or a bar inserted into the fork tube that locks onto the damper tube can be used to stop it rotating.
