RVF400/VFR400 Water Pump

I was wondering if anyone has successfully split/gutted the water pump housing that holds the impeller/shaft?

you can get a blanking plate to remove it if you are running an electric pump - is that what you mean?

ahh - not sure I've known someone strip it that far back - mostly it is a replacement as a unit
