Simplysideways, the same issue, both stop lights on unless you press either the front or rear brake levers and then they go out?

So lights OFF, ignition ON and stop lights come ON immediately and pressing front or rear brake levers causes stop lights to flicker.

My lights are permanently on when the ignition is turned on ( from memory lol only picked up a few weeks ago and only had the tail cone on once ) , the taillights are extremely bright and when I press the brake there is a slight change/ flicker in brightness.
I’m up in Cairns at the minute and the bike is in Brisbane so I won’t get a chance to have a look at it until the weekend again , depending on what the wife has in store for me when I get home lol.
Cheers mate

The left handlebar switch should have three positions, Dot (off), P (park) and H (headlight). Not aware of any NC30 with lights always on.

The switches do fail when high wattage bulbs are used as there is a relay on only high beam, and people use an NC35 as a replacement. Needs some rewiring to work and may indicate that there are other wiring idiosyncrasies.

Thanks mate ,
I ended up buying an RVF400 so the missus can ride it due to her license , needs a few bits doing so gonna focus on that for now and put the VFR in storage and make it a long term project / use as a spares bike

Def an RVF switch fitted so I’ll prob chase us a proper switch for it , guessing as with a lot of Honda parts they are generic between different models of that era CBR400rr/CBR250rr
