CARBS ALLOY AIR DUCT FITTING

WHEN FITTING THE REBUILT CARB PACK BACK ON MY ENGINE I STRUGGLED ON AND OFF FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS TO REFIT THE ALLOY AIR DUCT TO THE CARBS WITHOUT DISPLACING PARTS OF THE RUBBER CARB VENTURI`S( NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM HONDA OR RICK OLIVER)AND DISTORTING PARTS OF THEIR SEALING FACES BY TIGHTENING THE 8 BOLTS AND CRUSHING THE SEALING FACES OF THE VENTURI`S.
THE PREVIOUS OWNER/S HAD DONE THIS AND BADLY DISTORTED THE CIRCULAR FLANGES TO SEMI OVAL AND OBVIOUSLY MAKING A SECTION OF AIR LEAK ON ALL CARBS.I REMOVED THE VENTURI`S AND HAD THEM IN BOILING HOT WATER FOR THE BEST PART OF A WEEK TO SOFTEN AND AFTER STRETCHING THEM TO A CIRCULAR SHAPE(TOOK A FAIR TIME)AFTER A TRIAL FIT TO A CARB MOUTH FOR SHAPE, WHEN STILL WARM AND SOFT, I DROPPED THEM IN A BOWL OF ICE COLD WATER WITH CUBES AND LEFT THEM FOR THE REST OF THE DAY.THE NEXT DAY THEY HAD ALL RETAINED THEIR SHAPE AND DROPPED STRAIGHT INTO THE CIRCULAR GROOVE IN THE CARB FACES--RESULT!!!!!!!!!!

NOW TO FIT THE ALLOY AIR DUCT-----TRYING TO GENTLY ALIGN THE DUCT AND LOWER ONTO THE CARBS WITHOUT DISPLACING THE RUBBER VENTURIE`S FROM THE CARB GROOVES IS SO FRUSTRATING AND JUST AS YOU THINK THIS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE----INSPIRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-----THE SECRET IS TO REMOVE THE 4 TUBULAR SPIGOTS IN THE BASE OF THE AIR DUCT AND THE DUCT DROPS STRAIGHT ONTO ALL FOUR VENTURI BASES PERFECTLY WITH NO PART BEING CRUSHED HENCE A PERFECT AIR SEAL BETWEEN CARB MOUTH AND DUCT.--IT WORKS FOR ME-LITTLE LOCTITE ON FIXING BOLTS IN CASE OF MOVEMENT POSSIBILITY.

DARE I SAY A LITTLE OVER ENGINEERING BY MR. HONDA ON THE SPIGOTS FITMENT???????????
