Nc23 and nc29 fuel taps

Are they the same?
My nc23 hurricane tap is leaking and I can’t find a replacement so I’d just like to know what else will fit please?

What year is the bike?

I think the NC23 Hurricane (pre 88) had more in common with the CBR600 of that year regarding bodywork / tank etc. than the later NC23 & NC29.

My bike is 1988 (f) reg hurricane , not aero model so it’s a later nc23?

Always confusing as I don't think we really use the hurricane name in the UK for the later model

the same tap was used on various Hondas of the period - CBR600, CB-1 etc....

Just change the ‘O’ ring in the tap. Drill the rivets off and use some small bolts instead.

Whilst the US did use the name "Hurricane", the NC23 was never actually sold there. They had the "600 Hurricane" and "1000 Hurricane", but they'd dropped the names by 1993 (when my CBR1000FP was manufactured), due in part to the anti-"superbike" legislation threatened by Sen. John Danforth in 1987.
Most Honda fuel taps seem pretty simple to repair, but as noted above, you need to drill out the rivets and tap for M3 or M4 screws in order to re-build them. Places like NRP in the UP sell rebuild kits, and eBay is also a good source. Some of them use standard o-rings, so you don't really need a special "kit". And it looks like the Chinese have stepped into the gap as well, offering cheap replacements. Personally, I'd stick with rebuilding an OEM unit.
