If you are going to...
...run the engine with the bike in gear...use your ABBA stand, not front and rear paddock stands.
Thankfully, no damage other than a scuff to the R&G crash bung.
I've just ordered a set for my MV F3 now...
I have an ABBA stand, but don't use it for cleaning - and I was just running the engine to warm the bike up...put her in gear so the scottoiller would oil the chain evenly....won't be doing that again!

Still, could have been a lot worse. Could have hurt my dog, or landed on my car!

You are so very very lucky.
I know a moderator off here who had his vfr idling in gear while he used his hands to clean the chain... Ended up with a sore finger...

You were very lucky to get away with just a scuffed R&G, very lucky indeed. Go buy a lottery ticket today

If I win the lottery this weekend I’ll hire a track in Spain and fly us all down to it. :)

Re: If you are going to...
Ouch.
Even if you had it on the Abba stand would you now run it in gear?
I normally just spin the wheel by hand.
Still you are lucky no more damage - bike looks lovely...

Yeah - very lucky. On the ABBA stand - yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. There is no way for it to fall off. In the video the wheel rotates and causes the spindle to come out of the rear wheel - and it then fell off the stand...Suzuki416 wrote:Ouch.
