Setting carb float height correctly
Does anyone have any good tips/photos for checking and setting the float height correctly on RVF carbs? I think the book quotes 12.5mm. I'm slowly tilting the carbs to get a the floats resting, not pushing, on the needles, but I'm struggling at ensuring the height is spot on 12.5mm with my ruler - is there an easy/easier way to do it?
Cheers,
Dave

Get an old credit card/Nectar card/library card etc and cut a corner away that is 12.5mm from edge. Then you can use that against the carb body to check float height. It works better if you deliberately set the float height too low and then work towards the 12.5mm target using the credit card as a guide
