LED Headlight Bulbs
Hi all, I see these days you can get LED headlight bulbs with a H4 fitment. My current bulbs are dull and yellow, was thinking of changing them anyway - would opting for LED versions be a bad idea?

I thnk the trouble you will face is beam direction as they wont focus using the reflector in the back of the headlight meaning you are more likely to dazzle oncoming drivers

Good point - think I'll just stick with some brighter (hopefully) bulbs instead...

Hey craig, do the H4 bulb mod and get yourself some Philips extreme 130%, if these are not bright enough eat carrots and get yourself some glasses.craigs23 wrote:Good point - think I'll just stick with some brighter (hopefully) bulbs instead...

Re: LED Headlight Bulbs
Due to the way H4s are designed and the way LEDs work, I think it's probably possible to have a decent LED H4 low beam patterm using a reflector headlight, though the beam won't be as precise as with a halogen H4 (due to the LED being a different size and shape than the H4 filament). High beams would be all over the place, but perhaps it wouldn't matter much because you're not supposed to be using main beam where anyone can get dazzled by it anyway...

Resurrection of an old thread....
LED technology is improving, so I wanted to see if anyone has tried any of the new bulbs. I am in the US, so i don't have a chance to get repair parts easily, if this fails. Has anyone tried the new stuff. I saw these and was considering it...
