NC29 Struggling to start when hot, suggestions???

Post by ducatibiker19 » Sat Mar 27, 2010 5:28 pm

Hi all,

I have just bought an NC29 and she starts first time with no problem from cold, however if after riding her for 15 minutes you turn her off then try and start her again she struggles to frie-up.

I am new to the NC29 world are there any common issues like this with the bike. Any suggestions what this could be?

Thank you.

Wayne

Sorry to hear of the troubles :(

What does it run like once you do get it fired up when hot?

A clogged/ dirty air filter wont help when hot. Have the plugs been checked? Good indication whether its running too rich?

Thanks for the reply Lucas,

When she is fired up she sounds very smooth, no spluttering what so ever, idles a little high at 1300-1500 rpm. When riding her good power delivery from 7000rpm upwards.

I have collected her today so havent had a chance to give her a good check out but want to get some ideas of the most common causes to look into first.

Any other suggestions?

Sounds like its running ok once it fires up then.

I came across a couple of topics on other forums with starting problems when hot, but once it fired up it runs fine, and they were tracked down to starter motors. They appeared to fire over slower as a sign when they were hot.

There are some people on here with really good knowledge/ mechanical skills that will hopefully read this and help you out

I have only had my NC29 for a year (brother has had one for a few years also) and never had a starting problems
