Nice guide Declan!

This is something I've fortunately never had to do (usually blow the engines up before they need a new clutch :( ).

Job looks simple to take on after watching your guide. Cheers!

excellent vid ;)

For anyone working on the NC21/NC24 it's easier..

After removing the side-cover the clutch has 4 spring loaded bolts, undo these and the lot just drops apart :-)

Image

Since the two baskets are the same i'm pretty confident that the NC30 clutch will drop right into the NC24. Will be trying it soon and if it does writing up a guide ;)

Notice the extra timing marks due to the 180 crank ;)

One thing i've noticed when taking these engines apart is that sometimes the dowl that holds the sprocket the start motor connects to sometimes pulls out with the crank case and the cog drops out.. just make sure the dowls in properly if it does, the cog dosn't line up with anything.

thanks for the kind feedback guys. i made so many mistakes when taking through the guide, i ended up with 40 mins of footage & of dung talk, getting it down to less than 10mins was a challange!!

Good vid, could have done with the torque settings for the clutch nut in the vid but I suppose any of us watching are likely have a haynes to hand too.

Thinking about it, does anyone wanna link me to a torque wrench that would be suitable for the torque range the clutch nut is going to require. I need to sort one out.

Failing that if anyone had a haynes/honda manual to hand does anyone mind looking it up for me?

NC30/35:

Crank case bolts (right hand, 6mm thread): 10nm
Clutch Lock Nut (20mm dia): 85nm

NC21/24:

Clutch Nut: 65nm (not the clutch springs)
Crank case bolts (6mm): 12nm

I can't find the 4 x clutch spring bolts but there shouldered so I just tighten them up till there tight and crack em another 1/8th of a turn.
