Re: Gallery - Rothmans Colour scheme

Post by al.ramsay » Sat Apr 27, 2013 9:54 am

Hi all,
Does anyone have a Rothmans colour schemed NC30 out there, that would be willing to take some hi-res pics of their fairings & tank for me please?
Prefer original version rather than newer chinese ones so I can get all the decals in the right spot, but not overly important.

Any help would be appreciated

Original Rothmans scheme? they didn't do one. In the past ive mocked up the decals on paper to get the sizes as i wanted them before sending off the decal makers.

Yeah, I know it wasnt strictly an "original" Honda theme, but should have been... The issue I have is I either need to buy a complete kit from some chinese bloke, or can get an older set of OEM repainted, but either way, I need to repaint a black tank. I want to get it as close to replica as I can and figured someone has already done this.
Hope this makes sense?

Yes of course, i know of a decal guy here in the UK that makes very close to OEM decals, that would be where id go as like yourself im very anal about things like this and they have to look right. Depends on your budget at the end of the day, for £300 to £400 the chinese kits aint bad, i have a RVF RR chinese kit and although its still sitting in the box its actually very good for the money. A decent paintjob including decals in that scheme isnt going to leave you much change from £1000 or whatever that converts to in Aus dollars.

I just rebuilt a CBR250RR with the Chinese version OEM colour scheme and it fitted "ok". There is a local bloke that can supply them for about $500 Aussie and then just need some hi-res tank pics so I can colour match that and will be good to go!

If your going the chinese route id get the fairings first then match the tank to them not pics from another bike. Theres a member on here names NGeer that has chinese fairings in the rothmans scheme which dont look too bad to be fair and i belive he had the tank painted to match.

Great advice, thanks. I figured if I could get Hi Res pics, I would paint the lot, but I need to spend money getting it running rather than looking pretty.
