The pinstripes are on the type 1 scheme only, not the type 3.

Hey guys,

I just went to my local Finishmaster auto paint shop to get type 3 paints, and while they found the white and red, the PB166 Wisteria Blue did not exist in their computer. I suspect this is because no bikes were ever sold in the US with that color and hence (since if it doesn't exist in the USA it doesn't exist period...) it's not in the computer.

Does anyone know an alternate way of specifying that color? If I can find the same shade as a Pantone code or any other official paint system they can make it for me. Since I'm painting the whole bike, it doesn't matter if it's not exactly right.

Not really a vfr question but does anyone know the colour of the nc23 gold wheels? It seems to be quite a light, almost bronze gold and not metallic. I would like to match a vfr wheel to a nc23 front

I have a VFR400R3N and it's a Type 7 NH-1 colour scheme, I believe, in black and red...?
Is the Fighting Red R134 the same red used on this model? and is it the same as the CBR900 red? I was told the CBR900 red is R258 but someone colour-matched my fuel tank's red to that shade... but could it have changed slightly over time?

According to the Parts Catalogue, all Type 6, 7 and 8 front mudguards are R134 (Fighting red). Sorry, don't know the FireBlade red.

Ciao,

Ciao,
The Fireblade red that got matched for my NC was done by sight with a colour card placed on my fuel tank... Is it possible that sunlight has slightly altered the shade?
Cheers anyway!

I've found out that apparently, R258 is 'Winning Red'

I'm just going about ordering some paint from a guy that Gav at Jap4 recommended (Flying Tiger Paintwork) and he asked whether I'd like solvent-based or water-based paint... So I spoke to my mate who will be painting it and he said that he can do either with no problems and neither have a different outcome of the paint quality or looks.
So, what's the difference? It surely can't just be what it's made out of...?
