Where did I go (help with restrictors)

Post by Carl Howell » Wed Apr 30, 2008 5:35 pm

Made a new topic earlier and then the topic and my username were deleted.

Anyway, how are these bikes restricted? Are they any good restricted because I've read they have a 60mph first gear which I imagine wouldn't be too good with 33bhp. If they are restricted by the washers does anyone have the sizes so I don't have to spend £200 on some?

Thanks, Carl

get it done on a dyno, that way you have the legal print out.
Graeme France may have a set of washers.
It will just run out of puff at 80ish but should still get to 110mph eventually

carl ill send you an email of a guy ive spoken to after coming across on ebay he laser cuts washer for nc29, based on an original pair he had, he couldnt help me out as my insurance co wanted certificate also (would recommend checking with them first). he ll only charge £25 ish plus p+p, put em in any get down your local dyno and this is the cheapest option, my mechanic was fairly reasonable but it still cost £160 installed and certified.

Get the dyno guys to do it. Should be cheaper and you get the certificate.

Carl,

Firstly check with your insurance company as to what they want. Some don't want any proof (Bennetts didn't), others do (Norwich Union for one).

The restrictors (four washers) are easy enough to fit yourself, then take it along to get dyno'd (mine cost £30 a couple of years ago).

I've got a set of washers from my NC29. £20 sent recorded delivery if they're any use to you.
