Has anybody installed progressive fork springs in an NC24?
And if so did it make any difference.
Thanks,
Keith

Why progressive, are you trying to reduce the impact harshness of the front suspension?

No the opposite. The springs are very soft in the first part of travel.
I also think i'm getting some chatter in faster bumpier corners but I think that's a lack of 'real' rebound control.
Thanks
Keith

The only aftermarket springs I could find are Progressive.
I was hoping they would be a better spring all round compare to the 30+ year old OEM items.

Have you measured the unloaded and loaded sag? Where are you located? Rick Oliver on this site supplies aftermarket springs. NC24 has damper rod forks?

Hi, late but still worth replying:
I've made general front forks rebuild early 2019. Fitted German Wirth Federn - model 5010 from link below:
https://www.wirth-federn.de/produkt/wir ... 500-s-ex5/

Reason was simple: to replace 30+ years old OEM ones and make front more stable for ~100kg rider.
I've put new fork tubes, springs, sealings and springs, and still plan to make DYI with gear list and pics to the forum...

It's like Religion, you just have to believe ….

Original springs are progressive too.

I wanted to have longer springs, but due to unequal length of dampers and the upper metal cartridges it is very difficult. I asked at Wilbers and they sent me a sheet to measure all stuff they need (Diameter of wire, turns of spring, free length. hight of fork: unloaded, only bike itself and with me, …). Outcome for me (100kg+) was they suggested to cut 10mm off from the cartridge to make it softer.
