Rvf400 water pump issue

Hello all,
Quick question here:
My rvf seems to leak fluid when it gets hot while it’s on idle.
I hav looked under water pump and there is little rectangular slots and a circular one close to the pump on metal outer body:
Is this an overflow for when it gets hot and isn’t moving?

Welcome

is it leaking from the pump body? The seal can dry and fail - so you'll be needing a new seal, or refreshed pump?

The flat round is for tapping to drive the oil/water heat exchanger that other Honda bikes have.

Is it hot when leaking?

Hello,
Ya the bike would be on for 10 Min and the temp needle would be 25% up on the dial, then it would start dripping.
Replaced the gasket already as I though that may be the issue.
How do I upload pic ?

The water pump seal sounds knackered then - this is a pump out and dismantle job.

Pics - via a hosting site- flickr or the like

OK, is that the o ring. Looked it up on Fowlers 91310-KT8-003.
Thanks for the help, didn't realise that there was another seal there.
I have a very strange issue with the clutch, should I start another question or continue on this thread.

start a new one, or find an old one that had the same issue - I've been 15 years on here!! We've done most of these bikes to death :)
