So I was thinking ( which never goes well). Back in the 80's if a bike manufacturer wanted to make a new 400 without the cost, they'd just sleeve down a 600 and put some new stickers on it.
Soooo....if you were to sleeve down the current cbr600rr ,what kind of performance would you get?

Well i suppose it would work but as i guess you must know, manufactures usually done this for local licencing laws and they do this at the moment with the new cbr500, sleeving it down for the cbr400 for Asia/Australian laws.

To me thats not the thing to do with a cbr600 in our sort of thinking as you might as well leave it to 600cc. What we need is a dedicated 3/4 size 400, updated to modern standards but again this will not happen anytime soon.

I think Honda has gave up on these special types of bikes going from the cb350-4 right upto the RR, a type of bike they have always excelled in. Although one day Honda may revive a small dedicated 400 if the nostagia bites hard. Sadly im guessing electric bikes in an equivelant displacement will be the next (only) big thing.
