Re: Flatslides
I know of a few that have tried, and know of just as many that gave up on them.

Re: Flatslides
Yes, quite a few on here have..
I think Mike Norman has dabbled with them amongst some of the European owners..

JB power have started selling an FCR kit that is not cheap at all... few thousand gbp... but aparantly it works well.
FCRs can be a pain in the arse to set up.

Re: Flatslides
I bought Mike Norman's set when he started looking at FI. They are a lovely piece of kit but I couldn't get them to work as well as my HRC spec CV carbs. Admittedly the engine I now have is very different to the one they were originally set up for but at the time, I couldn't get the spec needle I needed off the shelf to fully dial them in. I tried the 2 closest needles but the both compromised different areas of the fuelling. To get the needles requires meant getting them manufactured (min 20 needles) at a cost of ~$1000! I decided just to stick with the CV's at that point, sell the flat slides and liberating some money from my heavily invested race bike!

I've been drooling over those JB FCR flat sides for awhile now but wanted to hear about experiences with them before dropping big coin :)Neosophist wrote:Yes, quite a few on here have..

Any details on those who have it working well Neo?

Re: Flatslides
I'd be interested in how much you can find out as I haven't seen much info on them at all. To be completely honest, I wish I still had mine and tune them with my current engine build but I needed the cash so they had to go. This is the dyno chart from the tuning session:
Worth noting that this was on a stock NC30 engine with an airbox (custom base and modified NC35 HRC Tyga lid). The runs are bike as delivered and where Chris got to. The big dip in the middle was the bit we couldn't solve because of the needles. These flat slides are also 32mm (the JB's are 33mm) and the velocity stacks were much shorter on mine than those pictured in the JB picture.
I am happy to share all the info I have as well as pics if you want.
Thanks
Luke
