That was my main concern however people with ninja 250s and 300s use them without issue so I think the NC30 will be fine.

S20s are on my RVF now. Brilliant tyres, really transformed the bike. Only dry use so far, and no track days but think they will be awesome on track.

The Dunlop Sportmax Alpha A13H are on. Only on day 1 so will advise after they are scrubbed in.

A couple of track days completed now, and they grip better than a well used (but still legal) set of BT090s. Cost wise they make little sense if you can get BT090s for a good price, but for those of us with few options they seem very good. Good on the street too, sensitive to tyre pressure.

Where did you buy from? Cycletreads don't list them on their website anymore.

You can get them from Cycletreads (just ring and ask), Motozone (web-based in Waikato) or AJ at Motohaus (Auckland). They are not cheap but you should be able to get a front fitted for $255. Good luck.

and for the Australians.... http://www.motorcycletyresplus.com.au/m ... -13-front/

Cam,

I have the choice of the BT090 or a supercorsa in 17 inch size. which would you prefer over the two? My only experience is with a BT090 18 inch, but am changing to a VFR 750 17" wheel this winter. I did enjoy my track time with the BT090!

just would like to know your thoughts...

For 17" wheels I don't think you can look past the pirelli supercorsa pros - clear leader when it comes to grip and feel, though it comes at a price. This is what most racers are using if restricted to a treaded tyre. For me, this is the best of the best out there.

Go for the 160 width rear: http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/motor ... .tab?tab=9

One of my fave road tyres ever was the BT090 (sadly no longer available down under), even with my 17" rear I would choose this tyre over many other options. I imagine the bridgestone BT003rs would also be very good, I haven't tried it yet. It's listed here as the successor to the BT090: http://www.bridgestone.com/products/mot ... 003rs.html

I have a set of alpha 12's.

Anyone have some recommended pressures for front / rear?

I need a new front tyre. Currently running BT014 front and rear, but the front is now completely worn on the right hand side and not far off on the left.
I'm keeping the BT014 on the rear, as it still has a few thousand miles in it, I haven't had it let go on me, and it's a nice hard wearing tyre. I want something stickier on the front though, I've had a couple of oh shit moments with the current front, it's skittered about on a few corners and just generally doesn't inspire confidence! (might be because it's completely fucked though).
I want to put a BT090 on it, but I live in New Zealand, so that's not really an option.
I've narrowed it down to; Bridgestone BT003RS, Dunlop Alpha 13, or Bridgestone S20.

The 003 would be wonderful for hard road riding, and track days, but it may be a bit overkill for me. A lot of my recreational riding is a 40 minute blast through nearby twisty roads, and I'm worried about maintaining enough heat in the tyre for it to be useful on the road.
The Alpha 13 would be great, as they also make a matching 18 inch rear that I could put on when mine wears out.
The S20 is a bit of an intermediate option. It has a wide heat range, but is still very soft and sticky, which makes it very good as an all round sports tyre. It'd be good for track days, and good for short blasts out through the hills. I wouldn't have to maintain as much heat as in the 003.

Just wanting some thoughts and feedback, what do you lot think of these tyres? Am I missing out any other good options?

I'd reckon that is a high pressure - 33 all round works well for the road and in the ten years I have had my bike I have used BT56s that it came with, several sets of BT090s, a couple sets of BT92s (mainly a spare rear on another wheel) and also a few sets of Dragon Supercorsas.

The most consistent and best performing tyre for the road, for me, was the BT090. It is a superb tyre.

Supercorsa Dragon are also very good, but need to be warmed up and are great on track. Diablo Supercorsa
