Yes,
It would be really good to have a bike that handles like a 400 and pulls like a 750.
I will have to ride Mikes bike some time to see if that is so.

Theres plenty of early VFR 750 engines on ebay, i take it its the 94-97 model you want? There cheap enough to buy and try and heres proof that it fits, how hard can it be?

I may have a 30 engine for sale soon

I can't even tell you how jealous I am. We have the same peak hp (actually a liitle more at 93hp) but our torque is still just under 40 ft-lbs. With 50ft-lbs, that thing must be a BLAST!!!!! Don't sell it. If you are a serious rider and NC enthusiast, that bike should put a smile on your face every time you ride it. If you need MORE power, it's fairly easy to get. I have built basic hopped-up RC-30s with 110hp and full HRC kitted engines around 140hp. I think if you had that much power in the NC chassis you would start to have some problems.

I wish I were on that side of teh pond to check it out. Awesome job!

That bike is awesome, I don't suppose there's a build thread anywhere?

Hi Mike,
I've been in your page and if I have the money you will be getting phone calls from me all the time... however I would like to visit your shop, I'll be in San Diego next week, and I'll be riding with Fastrackriders at Fontana the 30th of this month.
How does the little NC30/NC35 takes the huge increase in power? how about suspension?
I'm new to the smaller bikes (I actually have a 6hr endurance race Sunday in a CBR250RR), but I've always had 600s and liter bikes, missed the power...

We're going to just miss each other. I live just North of San Diego (Orange County) but my shop is in San Jose about 400 miles North of here. I will be at a track day on Sunday the 31st at Buttonwillow and we will have the 450 there if you wish to see it (it's really ugly after a season af hard racing....and crashing). Buttonwillow is about 2 hour drive North of Fontana. Which Sunday is your endurance race? Hopefully you can make it.

Mike bought the bike almost completed and then had the finishing touches sorted out.

I will ask if he can get details from the builder, but he does have photos with body work off to show a little detail.
I rode it, and what a delight to ride a "400" that picks up so quick and pulls so smoothly and so hard at low and middle revs compared to the 400 that I normally ride.

I have ridden RC30s on the road with 120 hp, and although an NC fitted with one of those motors may well be the final solution, the VFR750 motor pulls well enough and is cheap to buy.

Dave.
