Lovely bike. Not sure about the can though, but that's just me.

What's the wind/weather protection like behind the fairing, out of interest?

The wind protection is (surprisingly) not that good if I'm being honest. Could probably do with either a slightly taller screen or maybe one with a "flip" on it.

My diversion came with a flip screen. It created absolutely awful turbulence. I cut the top two inches off. Loads better. Still red though :Puke:

Nice bike :)

I don't know if I would have cut the original exhaust off on a brand new bike, but each to his own :)

I used to get about 53 mpg on my CB-1, I would have thought the injection would have made the motor more efficient? OK though, it's not a big difference and you probably are riding it different to how I would get those numbers.

Aaron, did it make a difference that you fitted the small-tooth rear sprocket (37 I believe)? Did it improve your MPG?
Cheers, Mansie

It's hard to work out mate since the speedo was then telling me about real miles, when before it had been a good few percent out. I expect it saved a few mpg, but the nicest gain was it was less buzzy on the motorway.

I can appreciate the benefits of a less-buzzy motorway ride, but what about accelleration? Has that not been effected??

It's been a while mate, I sold the bike a year ago.

I would say it probably (by logic) kills a little acceleration. But did you ever feel the bike needed a 7th gear? I worked out that the ratio change (on a CB1) was equivalent to 3rd~4th, 4th=5th, 5th=6th, 6th= that imaginary 7th gear. It really did make the bike a lot nicer to ride, and sorted out the innate speedo error, too.

It did make 1st ever so slighly too tall, so you were slipping the clutch more at slow speeds.

Horses/ courses. If you are enjoying the bike around town or buzzing about B roads, leave it. If you are motorway or fast A road riding, consider a sprocket change.

I have 1 tooth extra in the front (16). rear is -1 tooth.(I believe it's 41) When I bought it, had an original front sprocket and the -1 at the back.
For me the gearing is perfect now. 2nd gear is actually usefull now, when before it was too nervous for slow corners or roundabouts.
mpg stayed about the same I guess. It consumes a little less fuel now, but it's not a big difference.
