Choke lowers revs and kills the engine

Post by Tobesure » Thu Oct 18, 2018 8:12 am

Hello all, For my nc35, choke doesn’t help start the bike and once it is started, it lowers revs and dies.
Looked at butterfly mechanism and seems to be working fine. I have read that the choke increases revs independently, would this be issue as it’s not happening?
Bike runs well when warm.
Any ideas :?

There isn't actually a mechanism for opening the throttle when you pull the choke. It relies on the extra fuel bleed alone.

The choke mechanism pulls a set of plungers which allow extra fuel into the inlet air. Pull the carbs off and give them a clean along with the holes they reside in. Also make sure the linkages and sliders are all moving freely and operating all the plungers together.

I did all that with mine and it's still often a pig to start but once running it's fine. Hope you have better luck than me!

How are you using the choke?
