Attaching frame/swing arm protectors

Attaching frame/swing arm protectors

Post by NGneer » Thu Nov 16, 2017 10:34 am

Silly question that just jumped into my head (and months away from needing to do it on my latest Project) but how have people secured carbon fibre frame/swing arm protectors to their bikes?

Assuming People have done this in a way that would enable them to be removed again.....or not?

Thanks in advance NGneer :peace:

clear rtv silicone sealant, put plenty on push the covers on and leave for a day to set.
when you pull them off again you just roll the silicone off the frame/swingarm with your fingers.

I didn't think you would ever get them off again if you 'glued' them on

Its not glue, they just peel off again.
you have to give them a fair tug, but they will pull off.

Never fitted frame protectors myself but if I was going to I think I'd try double sided tape.
Tesa make the best double sided tape that I've used.
