MOT - Test Criteria for Motorcycles

A place to bang on about subjects close to your heart that affect us all as 400cc riders. general banter is rife, however rudeness and abuse seem to be the norm, If a bit wet round the ears best go play elsewhere. Auto pruning of items 31 days and older

You don't need a reflector.

All you need to MOT any track/race bike is a horn (must be electronic), a numberplate that will pass the examiners critera, a can not marked up "for race use only" (or similar) and road legal tyres.

Just a quickie....... If you have no rear pegs but a pillion seat, is this a fail?

INFO:
pillion foot rests are not required on motor bicycles that only have a single seat. in addition some motor bicycles used on or after 14 June 1993, which are intended to carry a passenger may not be fitted with footrests but with handholds attached to the motor bicycle frame adjacent to, or part of the seat. Refer to manufacturers informationbeg owners hand book.

Reason for rejection:
1.a.
(i) A missing riders seat or any seat insecure.
(ii) a missing or insecure footrest
I guess you were lucky then?

i need to get my carbon seat cover finished!

Yes must have been, to be fair the place was empty when i went and the chap took a look around, we chatted, he tested the brakes......then chatted some more....chatted even more, then he wanted to go home so all i had to do was wait for the thing to print !
