Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2018

A place to bang on about subjects close to your heart that affect us all as 400cc riders. general banter is rife, however rudeness and abuse seem to be the norm, If a bit wet round the ears best go play elsewhere. Auto pruning of items 31 days and older

Wondering if anyone else on here took part in this years DGR sponsored ride-out (30/9/18) to raise money for prostate cancer charities? If you haven't heard of it, the DGR takes place on the same day in over 600 cities across the world. The idea is that you enter into the spirit of the original idea and wear clothes that give that 'dapper' look, so lots of moustaches, tweed, flat caps and bow ties. Silly but fun

I turned up for the Manchester run on the Bonneville but the range of bikes was vast. Somewhere between 300-400 bikes, old and new, top-of-the-range Ducatis & Harleys through to scooters, mopeds and homemade rat bikes, with everything in-between including a Brough and an Ariel sidecar. Never seen a CCM on the road but there were 4 there, all fresh from the Bolton factory (one unregistered, with a trade plate strapped to the riders back).
Our ride went around, then through Manchester, via the United ground and ended up at a bar on the canals in Castlefield. The London run was naturally the biggest with 1000 bikes, running down the embankment and over Tower Bridge.

It was a good day and with money raised well into the millions it was more than just fun.
